Brief About Actor Lalit Parimoo

LALIT PARIMOO saw the first light of sun on this planet earth in the year 1964 on 28th of September.

He did his initial education and schooling in the peaceful and cool valley of Kashmir. By this time he had developed intense love for Theatre and Dramatics and in order to make a career in it, moved to Delhi in 1982.

For six continuous years he had an opportunity to learn the basics of Acting with several reputed Theatre Directors in Delhi. In very short span he participated in over thirty stage plays as a lead actor and director and got acquainted with Indian drama as well as Western drama.

  • Iphagenia in Aulis (Euripidis)
  • Agnigarbh (Mahashweta Devi )
  • Comedy Of Errors ( William Shakespare )
  • The Glass Menagerie ( Tennesse Williams )

In the year 1992 he moved to Mumbai and got an opportunity to work in Televison and Bollywoood films.

Few films where his work has been appreciated are : Haider, Mubarakan , Sanshodhan, Kathor, Panchlait etc. So far he has worked in more than 100 TV shows and films.

Lalit has been regularly organizing theatre workshops and plays with youngsters with a mission to educate them in dramatics.

During this journey of experimental Theatre he conceptualized “ABHINAYA YOG” which is unique combination of acting skills and yogic techniques. Its an experiential learning technique where the chief aim is not only to hone skills as an actor but also lead oneself towards self-development & self awareness.

Has been conducting workshops and lectures in various colleges and management institutes promoting the idea that acting can help in channelization of negative emotions.

Also founded a theatre group under banner “NATSAMAJ” with young enthusiasts and has been regularly doing meaningful theatre since last 15 years where the chief aim is to train actors and bring social awareness among viewers.

Some of the plays worth mentioning are—Daayra, Main Manushya Hun, Jungle Mei Khulne Waali Khidki, Bajne do Shehnai Yaar, Aadhe Adhure etc.

In addition to above have written books on Hindi short plays titled “Main Manushya Hun” and “Bhagwat Gita – ek Samwaad”.
